Mamie Van Doren In Xanadu is a radioshow curated by Dj No Breakfast, dedicated to cool & strange music, with special affection for amateurish masterpieces, misunderstood stars, obscure geniuses. Broadcast every wednesday 7pm - 8pm on radio FMR 89.1 (Toulouse, Fr.) streaming & podcast.
Hi Phantom! First I'd like to say that I think your shows are great, always surprising and fun to listen to. I've been wondering about the beginning of the MVDX shows - what film is the dialog and music from(I guess they come together)?
@Brain Flakes Strange! I've downloaded this album few days ago, i can't remember where. Anyway, thanks for sharing. I like it.
@P-E Fronning Hello compadre, i am happy to know that you enjoy my radio shows, about the jingle/intro, you might be desapointed but i think it comes from a disney movie called "shipwrecked" (1990), and the music i could not say exactly, as this intro comes from an old mix of mine and i can't remember about the music but i am pretty sure it does not come from the movie. I have to say here that i am a faithful reader of your blog, but you already knew that!
Thanks for the answer, Phantom. You are sort of right - a bit disappointed, but most of all surprised. I never heard of this "Norwegian" Disney movie (I know of the director though). So it is from the French track of this film... If you ever find out about the music I'd like to know :) But I guess the real magic is in your hypnotic mix.
